Driving Efficiency in Government Training with Dynamic, Engaging Video Content.

The Ministry of Defence is the department in charge of implementing the defence policy set by the government, and is the headquarters of the British Armed Forces. The support services department provides various support services for military personnel and their families, including welfare support, childcare, finance and employment.

The transformation from traditional, ineffective methods to a dynamic, video-based approach.

Challenge

The primary issue was the mode of training delivery. Dense, lengthy materials were presented using unappealing tools like flipcharts and text-heavy Word documents. The content itself was often tedious and hard to understand, and the sessions were held after long working hours, further diminishing engagement.

Overview

At the heart of this project was a challenge from the Ministry of Defence’s support services department. They were grappling with a significant problem: their method of training delivery was failing to engage staff members. The training materials were dull, difficult to grasp, and were often doled out at the end of an already exhausting workday. The consequence? Disengaged, fatigued staff without a real understanding of the updated governmental policies in welfare and family relations.

Services provided

Our team provided consultancy and video production services. We reimagined their training approach, focusing on creating engaging content and streamlining information into digestible pieces. We crafted a series of bite-sized training videos that could be watched at the learner’s convenience, eliminating the burden of long, draining sessions.

Outcome

As a result of our intervention, the Ministry of Defence – Welfare & Family Relations department witnessed a significant improvement in their training process. Staff engagement increased, and the training became more effective, faster, and cost-efficient. Most importantly, the welfare officers learned valuable skills to better support families and children.
